Over more than two decades, we have worked alongside and advised some of the property sector’s most astute leaders. These projects demonstrate the level at which (Vacant)Block operates: positioning assets and precincts to drive measurable results.

Apartments by Match
2004–2020
Apartments by Match introduced Perth’s first true boutique apartment brand at a time when density required persuasion. Design ambition became commercial strategy. What had been speculative stock became curated product.
The brand reset expectations around finish, amenity and narrative — accelerating absorption and proving that inner-urban residential in Perth could command premium through clarity of proposition.
-

Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA)
2004–2020
Block led the transition from East Perth Redevelopment Authority to the MRA, consolidating redevelopment bodies into a unified urban renewal authority.
We embedded placemaking into its operating framework and positioned the organisation as a national leader in city-shaping — elevating its influence across policy, development standards and investment perception statewide.
-

Brookfield Place Perth
2012–2013
Brookfield Place redefined the centre of gravity of Perth’s CBD. A 46-level commercial tower integrated with restored heritage fabric, it set a new benchmark for mixed-use development.
We developed the strategic platform that framed it not as a building, but as a civic statement — heritage and capital coexisting at world-class scale. The positioning supported premium leasing, strengthened investor confidence and signalled a new era of design and commercial ambition in Western Australia.
-

Greater Curtin
2014–2017, 2024–
Greater Curtin reimagined a suburban university campus as
an integrated urban centre.Block led the place vision and naming for the twenty-year masterplan, supporting legislative reform that enabled mixed-use activation and commercial development. Education infrastructure became development catalyst — shifting the precinct from standalone campus to fully realised university city with long-term civic and economic consequence.
-

Central Park, Perth
2016–
Perth’s tallest office tower required strategic renewal to maintain its premium standing in an evolving CBD market.
As brand custodians, we led the repositioning that underpinned its award-winning refurbishment — strengthening tenant appeal, reinforcing its market tier and protecting long-term asset value. The transformation reaffirmed Central Park as a defining commercial address in Western Australia.
-

Karrinyup
2004–2020
Following an $800 million redevelopment that nearly doubled its footprint, Karrinyup became Western Australia’s largest and most ambitious retail transformation.
Block led the brand and launch, repositioning the centre as a style-driven, hospitality-forward, experience-led destination. The result was the state’s largest and most successful destination campaign — aligning architecture, leasing and narrative to drive statewide attention and sustained commercial momentum.
